disgust me

has anyone been following the news lately?
and by news i mean cnn, bbc, or democracy now... unless you have some other reputable news source that im not aware of.

i find the state of the gaza/israel conflict to not only be gut-wrenching, but also completely ridiculous. AND, to add to the heinous actions of the israelis on the palestinians living in that area, the united states, the biggest FUCKING superpower of the world, refuses to take action and instead stands next to israel as its ally.

the gaza strip is less than one third the size of los angeles. imagine your city with a fence around it, then add heavy artillery shelling coming at you from the city next door. you try to escape but all routes are blocked. your family and friends are dying around you but there arent enough medical supplies to stop the rampant death toll. the enemy military finally agrees to a brief cease-fire, delivering leaflets advising you to get out of your house and go to a safe shelter, only to have them bomb that very shelter the next day, killing hundreds of your fellow refugees inside. all you have to defend yourself are shitty homemade missiles with hardly the capability of hitting an exact target.

where is the humanity in this? where is the SANITY in this? EIGHT israelis (as far as i know) have been killed, versus at least 765 in gaza. i understand that hamas is considered a terrorist organization, but israel is attacking defenseless innocent civilians with nowhere to go. whats worse is that the obama administration shows no sign of changing its position after the appointment of Rahm Emanuel as the chief of staff.
